Dr. Parschauer specializes in General Ophthalmology and has been serving Sandusky, Ohio since 1979 when he joined the practice of  Dr. James Walker. Dr. John is a surgeon committed to caring -caring to give the best possible treatment by staying current with the latest in technological and medical advances, and caring to see beyond the eyes of his patients, to their fears and feelings.

Having graduated from medical school in Philadelphia, he received further training at the Kresge Eye Institute in Flint, Michigan. He is board certified and an active staff member of both Fireland’s Regional Medical Center.

A devoted family man, Dr. John enjoys time spent with his wife and their three sons. He also participates regularly in community, church and service projects. His two older sons have accompanied him to assist on his medical mission trips to Honduras and Ecuador. His middle son, Justin, is now in residency for Ophthalmology and hopes to join his dad in practice at Parschauer Eye Center. Canadian-born, Dr. John enjoys a good game of golf and traveling. Whatever he does, he does it with heart.
